LETTERS DIRECTIONALITY
Referring to the People line Banner, helps while reflecting upon reasons provided in the letter stories for each letter formation. The Practice Sheets provided review what is shown in the Video for this section.
Have student simply draw a line from the small letters to their correct matching parent (capital) letter.
Have student draw eggs in the letters’ mouths and their eyes. Then circle the one that is correct by reference the understanding of being right side up and mouth in the back.
#2 VOWELS
This is in sequence building upon the previous vowel understanding.
Directions: Get a String (18-16” - suggested). Holding both ends with your hands pull until taut, while saying,“This is for the Long sound.”
Then while still holding the ends bring your hands closer together while letting the string droop into a crescent, smiling shape. Then saying,“This is for the Short sound.”
Repeat these string motions saying in sync with a rhythmic tune helps in remembering. “Long sound. Short sound. Long sound. Short sound.”
BONUS
